High testosterone.
Normal oestradiol.

How many women are affected by PCOS.
A
Up to 10% of women of reproductive age.

What is required to make a diagnosis of PCOS. (3)
A
Two of the following:
Menstrual irregularity.
Clinical or biochemical androgen excess.
Multiple cysts in the ovaries (most readily detected by transvaginal ultrasound).

A
High serum LH. High serum prolactin. Oligomenorrhoea. Secondary amenorrhoea. Cystic ovaries. Infertility. Hirsutism. Acne. Hyperglycaemia. Elevated oestrogens. Dyslipidaemia. Hypertension.
