What are the ovarian effects of PCOS?
A
Drives ovary into excess androgen production
Granulosa cells degenerate
theca cells are stimulated and produce more androgens

What investigations would help you diagnose PCOS
A
- free testosterone - usually increased
- bHCG to rule out pregnancy as cause of amenorrhoea
