Aims of Octobrists
- moderate conservative
- assisted russian government in implementing the 1905 october manifesto (covered areas such as freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, right to religion, right to have political parties etc)
Aims of Kadets
- wanted western constitutional monarchy
- wanted citizenship and equality for all russian minorities (eg. emancipation of the jews)
- anti-bolshevik
Aims of Populists
- wanted to build society based on village communities
- encouraged peasants to lead the reformation of russia (they believed this reformation had to start with overthrow of the tsarist system)
Aims of Social Revolutionaries
- end to tsardom
- return the land to those who work it
- economic socialism
Aims of Social Democrats
- believed successful marxist revolution could only happen after development of capitalism
- opposed the tsar
- advocated for trade unions
