What were the religious issues?
Henry VIII had left the country in disarray with a new Protestant King but a corrupt government to take care of him.
Catholics were persecuted and couldn’t fight back - no one knew what the religion was
What were the economic issues?
Henry VIII left the country with immense amounts of debt and Somerset continued the wars against Scotland and France. This led to more debt and a rise in inflation because of the continual debasement of the currency.
There was also enclosure which led to more issues.
What were the social issues?
There was a great amount of tension between the poor and the richer due to enclosure and the other issues.
What did Edward inherit?
Debt - Henry went to war six times
Religious Uncertainty
Stability - Political - the Privy Council
