construal can be used because some news reports are either left or right wing
what is a tabloid?
informal style, aims to entertain, uses biased and emotional language, simple vocab, shorter sentences.
what is left wing?
socialist or radical groups, extreme beliefs.
what is right wing?
conservative or nationalist groups.
what is a broadsheet?
provides information, aims to inform, assumes its audience, complex vocab, longer sentences.
what do people in centre believe in?
people who wore between the 2 groups.
what is communism?
everything to do with resources is with the public, there is no class eg: upper class, middles class, lower class
what is socialism?
deals mostly with the economy, the wealth will be shared equally ( higher paid people get taxed more )
what is liberalism?
protecting and enhancing the freedom of the individual.
what is conservatism?
cultural, social and philosophical that seeks to promote and preserve traditional social practices.
what is capitalism?
economic system to deal with money and wealth.
what is an ideology?
any set of beliefs which to the people who hold them appear to be logical and natural.

first - headline + byline
then - lead
after that - body
last - tail

short and snappy, eye catching, present tense, third person, easiest part.

short and snappy, make sense, explain clearly, past tense, third person, the 5 w’s.
the body
as much detail as possible, most important information, slightly different aspect, third person, background information, includes evidence, facts and quotes.
the tail
add extra or surrounding information, include links, feature a quote.
what does didactic mean?
intending to teach a lesson, often with a moral behind it.
what does Dulce et decorum pro patria mori mean?
its sweet and fitting to die for your country.
define dystopia
dystopian literature as a sub-genre of science fiction that explores negative utopias - societies that initially appear perfect but are revealed to be oppressive and controlling.
