When parliament complained in 1929, he dismissed them. Until 1640, Charles ruled without a parliament, a period known as ‘Eleven years tyranny’ - 1629->1640

The Scots attacked England because they do not like the religious changes introduced by Laud, this put Charles in a tricky political situation
