giving something in exchange for something else that has some sort of value
“Quid Pro Quo”
to work together in order to reach an agreement
compromise
to reveal secret information often to make it known publicly (politics and business)
leak
a person who tells someone in authority about something illegal that is happening (government and politics)
whistleblower
government person in authority that has complete power; controlling people’s behavior and thoughts while limiting their freedom
Big Brother
to try to persuade an elected official or officials to take a particular action or change a law
to lobby
a person who takes part in an organized attempt to influence politicians
a lobbyist
a political group formed to achieve a particular goal such as an election
campaign
a person who knows a lot about a particular subject or someone who gives opinions in a way that sounds intelligent
pundit
official rules and processes that seem unnecessary and delay results
red tape
a person who believes that people are motivated purely by self-interest rather than acting for honorable or unselfish reasons.
cynic or cynical
the crime of helping your countries enemies or attempting to illegally remove its government
treason
