* In 2024 Rishi Sunak attempted to cut wellfare for peope with disablitiy and long term illness to cut back on ‘sicknote’ culture. He promised anyone out of work after 12 months after support from a work coach will have “their benefits removed entirely”.
Tatcherist policy
* believed welfare created ‘dependency culture’
where people became reliant on the state and that this culture passes between generations
