Why do small parties fail? (5 reasons)
- lack of funding
- electoral system discriminates
- lack media exposure (strong leader helps, Caroline Lucas and Farage)
- Lack orginisation in communities (need to win in local elections first, build up grass root support. Populist like UKIP can bypass this)
- people see them as a wasted vote due to to FPTP
