It could of been for a number of thing like to strengthen the ussr, to test the USA’s strength, to defend Cuba, to close the missile gap or he might have planned the whole thing to make Cuba stay communist
Why did Kennedy choose the blockade to stop Khrushchev?
This was because it was the best option. It showed that America was prepared to stick to their policy of containment while still having very little chance of conflict
Was Cuba a success in containment .
No because Cuba had to stay communist and America had to take their missiles of turkey and so lost their advantage
Who won the Cold War ?
From the eyes of the public, America won because no one knew that Cuba was still communist and Khrushchev and Kennedy had a deal to not say anything about the missiles or much else
Overall Khrushchev won but no one knew that and so he lost all respect in Russia and was voted out because it looked like he had retreated
Why was Khrushchev putting missiles on Cuba such a big thing?
This is because his missiles could now reach Florida and Cuba was behind America’s anti missile system that told them When missiles where coming and so by the time the missile hit, they wouldn’t of seen it coming.
