How do Biological Theories impact policies?
Biological theories believe that criminals are biologically different to the rest of society; therefore, by removing the biological abnormality, crime will reduce.
What is the Death Penalty?
The death penalty is the state authorised execution of convicted criminals deemed too dangerous to allow to live or ‘deserving’ of death.
How does the Death Penalty link to biological theories?
the death penalty executes serious criminals - it prevents the criminal from inevitably committing crime again.
Furthermore, execution also helps to remove the biological abnormality and criminal genes from the gene pool.
Arguments for the Death Penalty?
It has 100% success rate in stopping someone reoffending - you cannot reoffend if you are dead.
