Policies in Russia Flashcards

1
Q

War Communism

A

When the state takes control of industry and tells factories what to produce. Food was seized and rationed from peasants in the countryside. Peasants grew less grain, as they thought it wasn’t worth growing it if it was going to be seized. This caused the economy to be in ruins, the cities to become chaotic and for millions to die due to famine.
