In essence once the EFD has received a request for assistance and has begun response, we have assumed responsibility for the mitigation of the incident until it is transferred to another fire department or agency
If after the arrival of a fire department unit it is determined that the incident is the responsibility of another agency the following steps shall be take: (4)
- Advise communication of the following information
a. Proper address/ location of incident
b. Situation found
c. Responsible fire department or agency to contact an if their response is needed - Continue response of Elgin companies needed to mitigate the incident
- Take appropriate action based on situation
- Ensue that scene/ incident is properly transferred to responsible fire department/agency
