They are a series of actions or steps enabling a policy to be put into practice
What are some common corporate policies include

Dress code policy Training policy Equal-opportunity policies Smoking policy Environmental policy Anti-bullying policy Use of Email or Technology policy
The Policy Development Process (PACDRAM) what is pacdram?
Problem – Identify the Issue– a catalyst from the internal or external environments has sparked the need for change.
Analyze - Research policies of other organizations as alternatives. Research into what policy is needed.
Consult – Stakeholders are informed of possible policy change and feedback is sought from them
Draft - a draft policy is written based on research and stakeholder input.
Review – Policy is reviewed with stakeholder input and adjustments can be made.
Approval –senior management sign off on the policy and it is implemented in the organization.
Monitor – Evaluate & assess using set criteria if the change was effective at solving the original problem. Changes made if necessary.
What are 2 advantages and a disadvnatages of having policy’s
- Help employees to know what is expected of them with respect to standards of behavours and performance
- Can prevent legal problems including compliance issues which may limit the liability of the business
