What is eugenics?
- Sterilisation of those who have undesirable characteristics so they cannot reproduce

- Can improve genes to prevent or cure diseases

- May lead to a loss of genetic diversity
What is psychoanalysis?
- Encourages criminals to uncover their unconscious thoughts which are believed to cause criminal behaviour

- Can be cathartic which is a release for the offenders to speak about their worries

- Creates a power imbalance which causes ethical issues
What is token economy
- A form of behaviour modification where good behaviours are rewarded therefore they are reinforced

- Effective for serious offenders

- Voluntary processes with a trained facilitator where the offender meets which it’s victim

- A building where people are legally held as punishment for a crime they have committed

- Protects society
- Isolates those who deserve punishment

- People often come out a worse criminal than what they went in
