Process for control, notification, and handover of fire scenes:
A
- Fire service has authority while a fire is in progress
- Fire service notifies police if they consider it may have been intentionally lit
- if Police seek authority of a scene, they will confer with the Incident Controller
- Fire will not normally handover untill the danger of fire, structural collapse, or exposure have been identified, eliminated (or isolated or minimised)
- For multi agency investigations, agencies to consult prior to scene examination
- Investigation plan to include the role of each agency.
