Point Operators Flashcards
What is a image histogram?
An image histogram is a graph representing the number of pixels at each intensity/colour level
What can histogram equalization do?
It can improve the contrast by spreading distribution of intensity evenly over the pixels.
What is a histogram (typically)
A histogram allows the visualization of the distribution of a data set
What does the y-axis of a histogram represent?
The frequency or data count
What does the x-axis of a histogram represent?
Bin range
What does the cumulative distribution function do?
We use it to create a mapping which has the effect of increasing/decreasing the contrast, according to the mapping which should improve low quality images.
