What is point of view?
describes a narrator’s position in relation to the story the narrator is telling.
What is first person point of view?
Told by a narrator who is a character in the story and wh refers to him- or herself as “I”.
What is second person point of view?
Through rare, some stories are told using second-person pronouns (you). This casts the reader as a character in the story.
What is third-person limited point of view?
Told by a narrator who relates the action using third-person pronouns (he, she, it). This narrator is usually privy to the thoughts and action sfo only one character.
What is third-person omniscient point of view?
Told by a narrator using third-person pronouns. This narrator is privy to the thoughts and actions of all the characters int he story.
What is a symbol?
Objects, places, events, or characters that have meaning and significance beyond their physical forms.
What is allegory?
A literary work that portrays abstract ideas concretely. Characters in an allegory are frequently personifications of abstract ideas nad are given names that refer to these ideas.
What is a an archetype?
A cultural symbol that has become universally understood and recognized.
What is theme?
An insight into life from a literary work.
