Alliteration

Anecdote

Apostrophe

Assonance
the repetition of the sound of a vowel
Blank Verse
verse without rhyme
Cliche
phrase or opinion that is overused
Consonance
agreement or compatibility between opinions or actions
Dialect
language that is peculiar to a specific region or social group
Dialogue
conversation between two or more people
Enjambment
continuation of a sentence without a pause beyond the end of a line
Figurative Language
words or expressions with a meaning that is different from the literal interpretation
Free Verse
poetry that does not rhyme or have a regular meter
Hyperbole
exaggerated statements or claims not meant to be taken literally
Imagery
visually descriptive or figurative language
