a form of repetition, a word or phrase that repeats at the beginning of sentences/clauses

the repetition of consonants at the beginning of neighbouring words

the repetition of vowel sounds

appeals to the 5 senses by using descriptive language
Metonomy
a word or phrase is substituted with another that is closely associated with it
Metaphor
a comparison that asserts one thing as another

a comparision using “like” or “as”
Oxymoron
the combination of contradictory words to create a paradoxical effect
Personification
giving non-human things human characteristics
Euphemisim
speech that is more mild and less direct
Hyperbole
exaggeration used for emphasis
Onomatopoeia
a word’s pronunciation resembles its meaning
Paradox
a statement that is contradictory or defies logic
