Similie
A simile is a phrase that uses a comparison to describe (like or as).
Metaphor
Comparing something to something else by saying it is it.
Caeusura
a metrical pause or break in a verse where one phrase ends and another phrase begins.
Enjambment
Instead of using end stops you just carry on with the next sentance
Volta
the turn of thought or argument
Extended Metaphor
a version of metaphor that extends over the course of multiple lines, paragraphs, or stanzas
Personification
Describing an object with human characteristics or feelings
Alliteration
2 or more words starting with the same sound in a row
Rhyme scheme
the pattern of rhymes at the end of each line of a poem or song.
Rhythm
The pattern or beat of a poem
Repetition
When you repeate the same thing more than twice
Onomatopeia
When it sounds like the thing its describing
Narrative voice
The perspective the story is told from
Propaganda
Poster or a poem that is primarily used to influence or persuade an audience to further an agenda
Jingoism
nationalism in the form of aggressive and proactive foreign policy
