Alliteration
Repetition of the beginning of words, to create smoothness and effect, or to emphasize key words
Allusion
A reference to a well-known person,place,event,literary work,or work of art
Assonance
Repetition of internal vowel sounds in words for hearing effect
Ballad
Song like,narrative poetry,often dealing with adventure or romance;usually simple,rhyming verse using abcb rhyme scheme
Blank verse
Unrhymed iambic pentameter
Concrete poem
Poem that creates an image for the reader. Message comes from arrangement and meaning of words
Couplet,rhyming
Two rhyming lines, usually of the same length and meter. Rhyme scheme:aa
Couplet,heroic
To rhyming lines of poetry written in iambic pentameter
Elegy
Poetic form lamenting the death of a person or decline of a situation
Figurative language
Not meant to be literally. Examples:metaphors,similes,personification

Poetry is the most condensed and concentrated form of pathos(literature)
