What is Connotation?

A

Emotional overtone attached to a word beyond literal definition. May be positive, neutral, or negative.

What is and Anaphora?

A

The repitition of a word or a group of words at the *beginnings *of a clause or line

Example:I have a dream that one day…I have a dream that tomorrow….

What is a Slant Rhyme?

A

Also known as a *Near Rhyme *or Half Rhyme.

Stressed syllables sound similar due to same consonants or vowel sound, but **never **both.

A

A

A referance to a well-known person, event, or place from history, music, art, or another literary device.

A

A comparison between two unlike things in which one thing is spoken of as if it were another.

A

A

A

The speaker say something and means the complete opposite.(Sarcasm)

A

When an event contradicts the expectations of the reader and the character.

Example: She came into the room to get her phone and then fell down a hole.
