Metaphor
A word that makes the sound of the action it describes.
Onomatopoeia
A comparison that gives human qualities to inanimate objects.
Personification
The pattern of the end rhymes in a poem.
Rhyme scheme
A comparison of two dissimilar things that uses “like” or “as” .
Simile
The narrator of a poem.
Speaker
A group of lines of poetry, usually similar in length and pattern.
Stanza
Something in a poem that stands for something larger than itself.
