What does Structure mean in a poem?
The way the poet has organised the poem on the page for example number of stanzas,lines per stanzas breaks in between lines and stanzas.
Definition Form
Some poems adopt specific forms for example sonnets or narrative poems. Many don’t have an identifiable form.

The poem may have a rhyme scheme and a noticeable rhyme in each line

The power of individual words or phrases and the overall effect of language in a poem
What is an alternative rhyme?
Alternate rhyme is also known as ABAB rhyme scheme.It contains three stanzas with the rhyme scheme ABABBCBC.
What is a sestet?
A sestet is the last six lines of a sonnet
What is a octet?
A stanza of eight lines.
What is a tercet?
A tercet is a group of three lines of a verse rhyming together or connected by rhyme with an adjacent triplet.
What is a quatrain?
A quatrain is a verse with four lines having a independent and separate theme.
What is a couplet?
A couplet is a pair of successful lines of verse topically rhyming and of the same length.
