Stanza
Verses (paragraphs). Introduces a new thought about a subject.
Assonance
The same sound between syllables and nearby words
Alliteration
Words that are in a line or sentence that all start with the same letter
Lambic Pentameter
A line of verse with five metrical feet, each consisting of one short syllable followed by one long syllable
Repetition
A word or phrase that keeps repeating and repeating and repeating
Rhyme
A word poem or phrase that has the same sound over and over again
Hyperbole
Something that is not to be taken seriously
Extended metaphor
Is when an author exploits a single metaphor more times then one
Onomatopoeia
Words that are Boom, Crash, Bang
Metaphor
It is a descriptive word that describes something in a different way
Simile
A descriptive word or phrase that has as in it
Symbolism
The use of symbols to represent ideas or qualities
Personification
Something that is not a human but is given human traits
