POE Do’s
A
- read and ID the question carefully-predict traps
- read each answer choice word for word the first time, and consider all parts of every choice
- read all 4 answers carefully w/ an open mind
- be suspicious-look for traps
- notice extreme or absolute wording and compare it to the passage text
- eliminate using bottom line
- eliminate using your own answer prediciton
- compare choices to each other
- go back to the passage often
