What is plugging and explain some attibutes of it
Plugging is braking a motor by reversing the line voltage or phase sequence.
plugging causes the motor to develpoe a retarting force
it can cause high motor currents and a high retarding torque
What is a zero speed switch and draw symbol
A rotary switch that operates contacts at a set speed which can be adjusted
Explain a plugging circuits role
Apply reversed line voltage or pahse rotation until the motor speed falls to a desired level, as sensed by a speed switch
what is this circuit
Plugging circuit in one direction only
What are anti plugging circuits
They use speed switches or special anti plugging relays to allow plugiging only when the motor has slowed sufficently so that the motor, the load or power system will not be damaged
