Simile
Compares two things, something is like something else.
Metaphor
Compare two things, something is something else.
Alliteration
A series of words that begin with the same sound. e.g. Pete’s pigs pranced around.
Repetition
Using the same word or phrase repeatedly to get a point across. E.g., our world is warming up, our world is polluting, our world is a victim to climate change.
Exaggeration
A statement that represents something as much better or worse than it really is.
Inclusive Language
Using words that bring together the reader/s and writer and are inclusive. E.g. we, our etc.
Rhetorical Question
A question asked, not for an answer but to create a more dramatic effect.
Evidence
The facts or sources that support your argument.
Superlative
Adjective to imply the highest or lowest quality. E.g. best, worst etc.
Emotive Appeals
Aim to touch people’s feelings, not logic.
