🎈Kathy introduces herself and talks about her job as a “carer” looking after “donors”.
🎈She talks about Hailsham and her friends there (Ruth)
🎈We are introduced to Tommy, and how he throws tantrums

🎈We learn more about Tommy and how he continues to be bullied but he starts to ignore it and things start to change for him.
🎈He apologises to Kathy

🎈We find out that Miss Lucy is the reason why Tommy stopped throwing tantrums
🎈Miss Lucy tells Tommy that his art doesn’t matter
🎈We are introduced to madame and her gallery and the fact that she is scared of the children at Hailsham.

🎈Kathy remembers Miss Emily’s assemblies
🎈She also tells us how she met Ruth and played with her
🎈The kids of Hailsham are annoyed about their tokens

🎈The girls create a secret guard for Miss Geraldine
🎈Kathy tells the story of Ruth’s pencil case.
🎈She recalls how she felt bad when she exposed Ruth for lying.

🎈Kathy makes it up to Ruth after the pencil case incident.

🎈She meets Laura and they talk in her car
