Character struggles against another character .
Character vs. Society
Character struggles against society.
Character vs. Nature
Character struggles against nature.
Character vs. Unknown
Character struggles against the unknown or supernatural.
Character vs. Technology
Character struggles against technology.
Character vs. Self
Character struggles against a dilemma inside his/her own head/heart.
Exposition
Where the characters, setting, and background information is given to understand the mood and situation the character is in. 1st piece of plot.
Initial Incident
The first problem to get the story moving. the conflict is introduced, we may not know the conflict till it is developed. 2nd piece of plot.
Rising Action
Events that make the conflict worse. They complicate the story, make it more interesting and build tension. 3rd piece of plot.
Climax
The highest point of action in the story, and the turning point. The two opposing sides meet. 4th piece of plot.
Falling Action
The fallout or resolution of the conflict. Problem is being solved with these events. 5th piece of plot.
Resolution
How the story ends. Readers left with a message in the text or inferred. last piece of plot.
