Pledges will be able to state the organization’s mission.
ONYX Pearls NY-Northeast’s mission is to build a Sisterhood that supports, educates, and
empowers Women of Color (Black/African America, Latino, Asian/Pacific Islander) involved in
Leather/BDSM/Fetish Lifestyles. As a responsible Leather Organization in the NYC Metro
Community, we strive to engage in various social, educational, service, and charitable
endeavors within the New York/New Jersey/Connecticut area that develop friendships and
promote safety for women.
What are the requirements for full membership?
- Woman (female-identifying) and must be POC
- At least 21
- Live in (NY, NJ, or CT)
- Must not be a full member of any other club of this type
- In good standing: voting rights, eligible for elective office and a seat as a representative of the executive board meetings, leasing of full colors (large patch)
- 6-month pledge commitment
- Attend a minimum of 8 meetings
- Attend 6 separate events (chapter hosting/participating) which must include Folsom East and the Chapter Anniversary.
- Approximately 8-12/months of service commitment not including travel time.
- Must attend classes and be responsible to be familiar with all materials such as Pledge Kit
- Complete Classes 1-6 and Quizzes 1-5.
- Attend a minimum of 3 designated community events during the pledge process.
What are the requirements for associate membership?
- Women (female-identifying) can be of any race
- At least 21
- Can be from any area
- Can be a full member of any other club of this type
- In good standing: no voting rights, ineligible for elective office, leasing of full colors (small patch)
- 3-month pledge commitment
- Attend a minimum of 3-4 meetings

What are the steps to becoming an ONYX chapter?
A chapter must first have 5 Full Members and in good standing, must demonstrate the ability to hold meetings, plan events, and work to fulfill the mission of ONYX. 6 functions achieved by 5 members: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Road Captain, and Pledge Master. Founders must send a request of intent to ONYX National in Chicago and a vote is held with the Full Brothers of all chapters who are present and in good standing.
