PLC'S Chapter 4 Flashcards
Explain Binary Principle.
Binary Principle-
Refers to the idea that many things can be thought as existing in only one of two states
What are the states for Binary Principle-
The states are 1 and 0. The 1 and 0 ON and OFF, open or closed, true or false, high of low or any other two conditions.
Explain Logic Gate-
Logic Gate-
A circuit with several inputs but only one output that is activated by particular combinations of input conditions.
Explain AND Gate-
AND Gate-
A device with two or more inputs and one output.
How many inputs and outputs does an AND Gate have?
An AND Gate output will be 1 only if the inputs are 1.
Explain Logic Gate Truth Tables.
Logic Gate Truth Tables-
These tables shows each possible input to the gate or circuit and the resultant output depending upon the combination of the inputs.
Explain OR Gate.
OR Gate-
Operates to control devices connected in parallel.
How many inputs can a NOT Gate have?
NOT Gate-
It can have ONLY one input.
Explain Boolean Algebra.
Boolean Algebra-
Is the mathematical study of binary number system and logic.
Explain Hardwired Logic.
Hardwired Logic-
Refers to logic control functions that are determined by the way devices are electrically interconnected.
Hardwired Logic can be implemented using what type of schematics.
Relay and Relay Ladder Logic schematics.
Hardwired logic is ____; it is changeable only be altering the ___ devices are ________ interconnected.
Hardwired logic is _fixed___; it is changeable only be altering the _way__ devices are ___electrically_____ interconnected.
