Summarise Plato’s analogy of the cave
Chained prisoners; shadows on wall made by fire, other wall, and puppets/images; freed prisoner escapes (eyes hurt for a bit); tries to go back to save other; rejected.
In the analogy of the cave, what does, the outside, the adjustment, the failed return, and the freed prisoner represent?
Outside- world of forms
Adjustment- truth hurts
Failed return- inability to return to ignorance
Freed prisoner- the philosopher (Plato)
Where are the forms?
Outside time and space
Why are the things we see imperfect?
The demiurge had to use the imperfect matter to recreate the forms leading to imperfect things in our world

Soul- charioteer driver
Horse1- mind
Horse2- body
Horses pull in different directions
What are the 3 aspects of the soul?
Reason- searches for truth, rules the soul
Spirit- aspects to be trained (eg. Emotion)
Desire/mercenary- seeking pleasures for yourself
