Q

Describe how the distribution of earthquakes is linked to the earths tectonic plates
(3 marks)

A

The earthquake locations are very close together, they are also on the plate boundaries. There are less earthquakes on plate boundaries where the plates move away from each other. There are more earthquakes where plate boundaries move towards each other or slide past each other. The highest frequency of earthquakes is around the Pacific plate.
