Q

What is subduction

A

Convection happens when two plates collide forcing one plate up and the other down. The magma in the earths mantle melts and is recycled into the mantle. This is called subduction

Q

What is a destructive plate boundary

A

When two plates collide forcing one up and the other down. The plate that is forced down is then recycled into the magma. Eg. The pacific ring of fire

Q

What is a constructive plate boundary

A

When two plates pull apart. Magma rises cools and becomes basalt rock then new crust is formed. Eg.The mid Atlantic ridge
