Tracheophytes
Vascular plants, does have true roots, stems, and leaves, three types of vascular plants
Seedless, gymnosperm, angiosperm
Bryophytes
non-vascular plants, do not have true roots, stems, and leaves
Roots function
Anchor plant, store food, takes in food
Fibrous
many thin roots
Tap
one long one with ones coming out of it
Prop
a root that grows from a stem above the ground
Herbaceous
green, thin, and short, last for one growing season
Woody
made of wood, thick, gets taller and wider every year, can last for many growing seasons
Layers of woody stem and function
Outer bark - protects cells inside
Inner bark - living phloem
Cambuim - produces xylem and phloem
Sapwood - active xylem
Heartwood - old, inactive xylem, supports the tree, is used to make wooden objects
Annular rings - each ring of xylem, represetns one year’s growth
Water loss through the stomata?

are veins, helps transport food and water

the heart part of it (“Flat part”to be exact, >:( if u want to be proper )
