What are the three parts of a seed? 
Embryo, food store and seed coat 
What is the function of an embryo? 
Grows and develops into a new plant
What is the function of a food store?
Provides energy for the embryo
What is the function of the seed coat?
Protects the embryo prevent it from drying out
What are the three things needed for successful germination in a plant?
Water, oxygen and warmth 
What do they need water? 
Allow seeds to swell up to help the growth of the embryo take place
Why is oxygen needed? 
Needed for the aerobic respiration which provides energy for the embryo 
Why do they need warmth?
Requires for the enzymes to carry respiration and cell division 
What are the three methods that plants can asexually reproduce? 
Bulbs, runners, tubers 
What are bulbs?
Underground food storage organs, example, onions and garlic 
What are runners?
Horizontal stems, example strawberry or spider plants 
What are tubers?
Underground food stores, the cells grow into new plants 
What is the function of a nectaries?
Protect the unopened flower
What is the function of the sepal
It may be brightly colours to attract insects
What are the function of the stamen?
The male part of the flower, hold it up by the filament
