plants Flashcards
What is photosynthesis
It’s process where plants use water and carbon dioxide to make oxygen with help of sunlight
Why is photosynthesis important
It’s to make glucose that has energy for other organisms to make oxygen for all organisms
What does chlorophyll do ?
To capture sunlight for energy
What do plants do with chlorophyll ?
Plants stores carbohydrate more than they need and to also store carbohydrate as starch inside the chloroplast in the cell
How do plants get water and co2 ?
Water adobes from soil by the roots then it goes to the cells in the leafs along veins then carbon dioxide diffuses into the leaf from the air through tiny holes called stomata
How does root enter water ?
Water diffuses into root hair by hair cell by osmosis and then minerals into root hair cell by active transport
How do roots hair absorb water ?
Plants absorb water 2 minerals from soil by roots
How does water move through the leaves ?
Water moves from root hair to then the leaf through the Xylem vessels, then when water carries the leaf it moves out of Xylem vessels into the leaf cell
How does water move up the plants ?
Water is transported through the Xylem vessels in the plants
Where are Xylem vessels located ?
It’s from the roots till plat top
Why do plants need water ?
They need to water to keep the plant standing up right, for hot places and for Photosynthesis
How does water transport
Water moves inside the Xylem vessels carrying minerals and slat
