plant cells and animal cells Flashcards
basic understanding
what are the cell structures found in plant cell
mitrocondria , cell membrane , ribosomes , cytoplasm , nucleus , chloroplast , cell wall , vacuole
what are the cell strucures found in animal cell
mitrocondria , cell membrane , ribosomes , cell membrane , nucles
what are the cell stuctires found only in plant cell
cell wall , chloroplast , vacuole
define “cell wall” found only in plant cell
cell wall is made up of cellulose and give the cell a defines shape and extra support.
define “cell membrane” found in both animal and plant cell.
cell membrane is a semi permeable membrane which controls he substances in and out of the cell
define “chloroplast” a green pigment found only in plant cell
chloroplst contains green pigment chlorophyl which traps light energy and converts it to chemical energy by the the process of photosynthesis
define “cytoplam” found in both animal and plant cell
cytoplasm is a gel like substance and site of many chemical reactions including anaerobic respiration.
define “nucleus” found in both animal and plant cell
nucles contains the genetic material like DNA or RNA which controls the activities of the cell
define “mitochondria” found in both animal and plant cell
mitochondria is the site were energy is produced so it is also known as the powerhouse of the cell
(the energy produced is called atp (adenoise triphosphate)
define “ribosomes” found animal and plant cells
ribosomes is found in cytoplam and is site of proten synthesis.
define “vacuole” which is found only in pant cell
vacuole is a large sac like structure and used for the storage of certain materials
what is the formula to calculating magnification
magnification = magnification of objective lens magnification of eye piece lens
