What is Cytoplasm?
This is a jelly-like substance that holds and protects the cell’s organelles.
What is the ER (Endoplasmic Reticulum)?
Endoplasmic reticulum is a network of membranes inside a cell through which proteins and other molecules move.
There are two types of this structure: a smooth and a rough one.
What is Golgi Apparatus?
The Golgi Apparatus is what packs and processes the protein in the cell
What is the Nucleus?
The nucleus is the brain of the cell. it controls the cell’s activities such that of a brain.
What is the Vacuole?
The Vacuole is a large sac that holds food, water and waste.
Usually, in an plant cell, there will be one large vacuole however in an animal cell there would be more but a smaller sized vacuole.
What is the Michondria(n)?
These structures are known as the powerhouse of the cell because they release energy.
What is a Chloroplast?
Only found in plant cells, this green structure uses energy from the sun to make food.
What is the Cell Membrane
The Cell Membrane is a surrounding barrier that protects the animal cells and controls movement in and out.
What are Ribosomes?
Ribosomes synthesise/ build proteins for the cell.
What is the Cell Wall?
The Cell Wall is a surrounding barrier that protects the plant cell and controls movement in and out.
What are Organelles?
Organelles are the mini organs of a cell. They are also specialized structures that perform various jobs inside cells.
