22
Q

What 4 major divisions are in a set of construction prints

A

1: architectural drawings
2: structural drawings
3: mechanical drawings
4: electrical drawings

Each of these divisions consist of
Site/plot drawing
Plan drawing
Elevation drawing
Sectional drawing
Detail drawing

23
Q

What are revisions on plans

A

When a change is made to plans revisions are recorded top of title block on new plan

24
Q

Where is scale shown

A

Title block

25
Q

What are two reference lines called

A

Grid lines - like battle ships a1 number up axis and letters on other axis

Bay lines- point out a specific structure

26
Q

What division is electrical

A

Division 26

27
Q

What is electric site/plot plans

A

Copy of architectural site plans with added info for electrician eg exterior manholes l/hydro, exterior lighting, power poles/telephone poles

28
Q

What are electrical floor plans

A

Must popular drawing for electricians. Shows layout of lighting/outlets etc. what I used in kadenwood

29
Q

If luminaries not available contractor must…..

A

Request approval from architect (D)

30
Q

There are 5 circulating pumps who’s responsibility to wire thermostat

A

Contractor that supplies equipment (C)

31
Q

Explain sectional drawing

A

Sectional/cross sectional show hidden detail- inside wall structure vapour barrier, shearing, siding etc.

32
Q

What is sectional drawing symbol

A

“Eyeball”

Arrow points to direction of view
Top indicates section number
Bottom indicates page/sheet number

33
Q

Explain detail drawing

A

Shows small part of entire project on large scale. Example - concrete Column in detail finish dimensions lighting built in etc.

34
Q

What are shop drawings/fabrication drawing

A

Show fabricators detailed information in order to fabricate/ or provided to electricians will show size and shape of piece of equipment. Front side and top view

35
Q

Explains- As built drawings

A

Used to keep record of how a project was actually built. Can be used for reference for any future work

36
Q

What is notation

A

Note providing additional or more specific information

37
Q

Explain set back

A

Separation between a building and the lot/ land it’s on

38
Q

What are working drawings

A

Working drawings are final approved drawings needed to build/ manufacture.

39
Q

What 5 divisions do “working drawings” include

A

Architectural
Structural
Mechanical
Plumbing
Electrical

40
Q

Working detail drawings

A

an accurately measured and detailed drawing of a structure, machine, etc., or of any part of one, used as a guide to workers in constructing it

41
Q

Working detail drawing

A

Shows how all parts of an individual working detail drawing fit together. IKEA furniture example

42
Q

Working detail assembly drawing

A

Shows information on parts as well as object and assembly

43
Q

Name some working drawings divisions

A

Site/plot
Plan
Elevation
Inside elevation
Sectional
Detail
Shop drawings
As built drawing

44
Q

Plan drawings

A

Shown as floor plan- plans we use the most. Will have grid lines for reference

45
Q

What are elevation drawings

A

Front view of an object or structure. Shows what a building will look like from outside with dimensions

46
Q

Inside elevation drawing

A

Same as elevation drawing but shows inside wall spaces etc. good for electrical to plan wire pull and where to put boxes etc.

47
Q

What is on index page

A

First page of a set of working drawings. Labelled for each division - structural (s1)
Landscape (L4) etc.

48
Q

What is title block on drawings

A

Everything must have it always on lower right hand corner and shows info like
Date
Name adress of engineer
Architech name adress
Person who made drawing
Title of drawing etc

49
Q

How many cm in metre
How many mm in cm

A

1m = 100cm
1m =1000cm
1cm =10mm

50
Q

1” in cm=
1cm in “=

A

1” = 2.54cm
1cm = 0.3937

51
Q

1:20 scale wall is 20mm how many inches is object

A

Real size = scale x length

1 divide 20 x 20 = 1mm

1mm to inch= 0.1 divide 2.54= 0.0394

52
Q

How many cm in 1”

A

2.54 cm in 1”
25.4mm in 1”

To find cm in inches divide mm/cm by 2.54 = 20cm divide 2.54cm = 7.8”

53
Q

What is process of drawings before bidding tenure

A

1: Preliminary drawings - architect
2: sub trade provided by
Structural engineer
Mechanical engineer
Plumbing engineer
Electrical engineer
3: final drawings ready
4: bidding tenure
