Planet Earth Flashcards
What are the 3 types of rock? 🌻
- Metamorphic
- Igneous
- Sedimentary ✔️
What is the difference between a compound and a mixture? 🦋
- A compound is a substance made up of two or more different elements joined together
- A mixture is when substances are not joined together ✔️
What are 3 types of soil? 🌸
- Sandy soils
- clay Soils
- Loam Soils ✔️
How are Metamorphic rocks formed? 🤪
Metamorphic rock is formed by changing one rock into another it is always hard and has no fossils
How is sedimentary rocks formed? 🥰
It’s formed by grains being compressed together over a long period of time. It is usually soft crumbly easily eroded and may have fossils ✔️
How is igneous rock formed? 😋
It’s formed when molten rock cools and hardens. It’s very hard and never contains fossils ✔️
Name an example of each type rock ✨
S- chalk
I- granite
M- Marble ✔️
What is melting? ☀️
A solid changing state to a liquid ✔️
What is Evaporation? 🎀
Is the surface atoms changing from a liquid to gas ✔️
What is boiling? 🥵
Most of the atoms have enough energy to change into gas from a liquid ✔️
What is freezing? 🥶
A liquid changing to a solid ✔️
What is condensation? 💛
When a gas changes to a liquid ✔️
