Sagittal Plane
Vertical Plane - Divides into right and left sides.
Midsagittal Plane
Vertical Plane - Passes through midline of body/organ, divides it into equal right and left sides.
Parasagittal Plane
Vertical Plane - Divides body/organ into uneven right and left sides.
Frontal (or coronal) Plane
Vertical Plane - Divides into anterior and posterior portions.
Transverse (cross-sectional/horizontal) Plane
Horizontal plane - Divides into superior and inferior portions.
Oblique Plane
Passes through the body at an angle between transverse and the sagittal plane, or between the transverse and the frontal plane.
What angle are sagittal, frontal, and transverse planes at to each other?
90 degrees.
