What is a plan drawing or scale drawing?
A
- Reproduction of scene as found
- Bird’s eye view showing the relative position of object at the scene
- They can assist the court:
- explain complex scene to a jury in a non confusing way
- aid in the investigation by developing a clearer understanding of what happened at the scene

What are the two methods of measuring a scene?
A
Baseline and right angle offsets:
- simplest method
- good for short distances (<3m)
Trianguation
- Better for long distances
- use 2 fixed points

What are two types of measurement?
A
Continuous - measure points from a common point
Additive - measure each segment individually, which would add up to the total length of the wall.
