What is plaint?

A

A plaint is a legal document that contains the claims made by the plaintiff when they bring a case to a civil court. (A plaintiff is a person who brings a civil action in a court of law). It serves as the initial step in starting a lawsuit. In fact, in the very plaint, the contents of the civil suit are laid out.
