Q

What are the “How To Be A Pirate” values?

A
  1. THERE’S GOT TO BE A BETTER WAY
If it ain’t broke… there’s still a better way to do it. We’ll only grow if you have the confidence to spot a risk worth taking and go for it. Sometimes you’ll pull it off, sometimes you won’t. Move fast, make mistakes, learn from them.
  2. LEAVE YOUR EGO AT THE DOOR
Jump in, get stuck in and get on with it. Don’t let job titles stop you from coming up with the next big idea or making a cup of tea (and cleaning the mugs).
  3. TURN UP THE FEEDBACK
Here, talking face to face is always better than grumbling behind the scenes. We want open, honest and fair feedback to be part of our conversations every day, in every job. Bottom up, top down, through the middle – we can all pitch in to make Pirate better. So speak up, say what you think – and listen when others do the same.
  4. MAKE DIVERSITY MORE THAN A HASHTAG
We don’t want our community to be the most diverse thing about Pirate.
We know we’ve got a long way to go: we need to work harder to find people who don’t tick the same boxes, so Pirate is a better mix of backgrounds and voices. That starts with us.
  5. SEE IT THROUGH
Getting things done at Pirate isn’t about working all hours and staying late. Don’t waste time on stuff that doesn’t matter or wait for someone else to pick up the slack. It’s down to you to find ways to make Pirate better, follow things through and make them happen.

Q

What are the house rules?

A
  1. Only bring people to the studio that you’d invite to your home. You take full responsibility for the room, its contents and the people you allow in during your booking.
  2. Pirate is a smoke-free venue. No smoking or vaping anywhere inside the studios. We’ll charge you if anyone in your session breaks this rule. This charge increases if a fire alarm is activated.
  3. Close the doors. Keep doors closed to reduce sound bleed and respect other creatives in the studios.
  4. Pirate has a zero-tolerance drugs policy. Anyone found to be using drugs, or illegal substances will be banned. Our security team monitors our CCTV 24/7.
  5. Keep a dry zone around the equipment. Drinks and equipment don’t mix. If there are any spills, clean them up straight away. You can find paper towels in the kitchen.
  6. Turn off the AC. Remember to turn off the air-con or heater before you leave. Climate change is real.
  7. Be a considerate Pirate. At the end of your session, place all litter in the bins provided and reset the studio equipment. When leaving the studios in the evening, please respect our neighbours by staying quiet.
  8. Report any issues ASAP. If anything breaks during your session, please let us know via live chat or Whatsapp. We carry spares on site so you can get back to playing again straight away
