  2. Pilot conduct thorough preflight inspection.
17
Q

What are airworthiness directives (AD)?

A

AD is how FAA notify aircraft owners and other potentially interested persons of unsafe conditions that may exist because of design defects, maintenance, or other causes, and specifies the conditions under which the product may continue to be operated. Ads are regulatory in nature, and compliance is mandatory. It is aircraft owner’s or operator’s responsibility to ensure compliance with all pertinent ADs.

18
Q

Types of ADs

A
  1. Emergency nature require immediate compliance prior to further flight.
Less urgent nature requiring compliance within a specified period of time.
19
Q

Can i fly an airplane with expired AD to another airport to do the required work?

A

Yes you need to apply for special flight permit.

20
Q

Registration expiration date

A

7 years for normal one.

21
Q

Can i fly with with expired AD or registration or overdue inspection?

A

Yes, but need Special Flight Permit from FAA.

22
Q

Minimum Required Equipment for VFR flight

A

ATOMATOFLAMES FLAPS
A - Airspeed Indicator
T - Tachometer (for each engine)
O - Oil Pressure Gauge
M - Manifold Pressure Gauge
A - Altimeter
T - Temperature Gauge
F - Fuel Gauge
L - Landing Gear Position Indicator (if applicable)
A - Anti Collision Lights
M - Magnetic Compass
E – Emergency Location Transmitter (ELT)
S – Safety Belts

For VFR flights at night, add the acronym FLAPS:

24
Q

Difference between Annual inspection and 100 hour inspections

A

100 inspection can be done by all A&P mechanic
