What four documents do you need to fly?
Student Pilot License- no expiration
Photo ID- gov issued
Medical- 3rd class (60 months < 40 yo, 24 months > 40 yo)
Endorsement in logbook- for specific make and model of aircraft w/in 90 days of flight
Student pilot limitations
- No passengers
- No touch & goes
- Winds not to exceed 12 kts including gusts, crosswind < 7 kts
- Ceilings 3,000’ AGL
- Vis= 3 miles

Alcohol- <.04, 8 hrs

Required documents during preflight
- Airworthiness certificate
- Registration Certificate
- Operating Manual- original to aircraft
- Weight and Balance
AV1ATES Mean?
A – Annual Inspection (required every 12 calendar months)
V – VOR Check (required every 30 calendar days for IFR flight)
I – 100-Hour Inspection
A – Altimeter (required every 24 calendar months) + Airworthiness Directives
T – Transponder (required every 24 calendar months)
E – ELT Inspection (required every 12 calendar months)
S – Service Bulletins (issued by the manufacturer, not mandatory, ASAP tho)
