Shahada is the belief that “There is no god but God, and Muhammad is the Messenger of God”.

You need at least two adult Muslim witnesses.
Does Shahada have to be done in a mosque?
No, it can be anywhere.
What is Salat?
Salat is prayer.
How many times a day is Salat done?
Salat is done five times a day.
Does Salat have to be done on a prayer mat?
Yes it does.
In which direction do you face during Salat?
In the direction of Mecca.
What is Zakat?
Zakat is giving to charity.
How much of your annual earnings do you have to give to Charity during Zakat?
2.5% of your annual earnings.
Do you have to give your money to a Muslim charity during Zakat?
You don’t HAVE to, but it is recommended.
What is Sawm?
Sawm is the act of fasting.
Which month is Sawm done in?
The month of Ramadan. The dates may vary.
What is the purpose of Sawm?
To put a Muslim in the shoes of a more needy person.
What are the exceptions of Sawm?
Fasting is exempt for those who are menstruating, for those breastfeeding or pregnant, those suffering from ill health or for any other reason with good cause.
What time is Sawm done at?
From dusk til dawn.
